Our commitment to your privacy

WK Online (Pty) Ltd (Registration number 2001/014824/07), trading as Willa Krause Skin Care ("Willa Krause", "we", "us", "our"), owns and operates www.willakrauseskincare.co.za ("the Site"). We respect your right to privacy and process your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights.

Definitions

  • "Personal information", "processing", "responsible party" and "data subject" have the meanings given in POPIA.
  • "You" means any visitor to the Site, customer, newsletter subscriber, or Independent Willa Krause Consultant.
  • "Related entities" means companies related to us as defined in the Companies Act 71 of 2008.

Information we collect

  • When you order or register: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and order history.
  • When you contact us or complete a form: the details you provide, including skin-type quiz answers and messages.
  • When you apply to become a consultant: the information on your application.
  • When you browse: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site.

We do not store your card details. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment gateways.

How we use your information

  • To process and deliver orders, handle returns and provide customer support.
  • To manage your account and your relationship with us as a consultant, where applicable.
  • To send newsletters, specials and product information, only where you have opted in or are an existing customer. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve the Site, prevent fraud and diagnose technical problems.
  • To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Cookies and analytics

The Site uses cookies to keep your basket, remember preferences, measure traffic and support payments. We use third-party analytics to understand how the Site is used, including page views, unique visitors, time on site, and common entry and exit pages. This data is used in aggregate.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site, including the checkout, may not work properly.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:

  • Couriers, to deliver your order.
  • Our payment providers, to process payments.
  • Our e-commerce platform (Shopify), and the hosting, email and IT service providers who support our business.
  • Your nearest Independent Willa Krause Consultant or salon, where you ask to be connected with one.
  • Our related entities, to help deliver products and services to you.
  • Authorities, where required by law.

These parties must keep your information confidential and secure.

Cross-border transfers

Some of our service providers may store information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to laws or agreements providing protection similar to POPIA.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, tax records are kept for at least 5 years).

Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

  • Ask whether we hold your personal information and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct or delete your personal information.
  • Object to processing, including for direct marketing.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
